Dirt, wrong parts or several parts on top of each other cause trigger signals at the light barriers (or the HMU option).

Remedy:

(A):
1. Check the speeds of the system components.
2. If necessary, modify them so that a regular conveying is obtained.
3. Try to reduce the friction of the parts.
4. If the message continues to be displayed, check the following points (see below).

(B):
1. Check part position in image windows.
2. If the parts are too much to the right or left in the image windows, modify value for the nominal position of the rotary guide/s. Manual menu > Nominal position settings...

(Note error message with number)

will only be displayed if the asentics VARIO3 inspection system is connected via the optional asentics VARIO3 Inspection Net to a host PC.
For information, see the separate Inspection Net option manual.

will only be displayed if the Access Control option is activated in your asentics VARIO3 inspection system.
For information, see the separate Access Control option manual.

What to Do if…

Check:

  • whether there is something obstructing the camera lens: If necessary, remove it.
  • cables: Turn off the inspection system and connect loose cables or tighten the connections.

Check:

  • whether the inspection is activated in the Parameters... dialog box:
Check boxes for the area of interest and for the inspection parameters must be selected.
  • whether the inspection parameters are correctly set in the Parameters... dialog boxes:
    • Are the tolerances too large?
    • Are the Result correction parameters correct?
    • Are the threshold values correct?

Check:

  • whether the inspection parameters are correctly set in the Parameters... dialog box:
    • Are the tolerances too large?
    • Are the Result correction parameters correct?
    • Are the threshold values correct?

Check:

  • whether there is dirt or foreign material on the glass plates. If necessary, clean it.
  • whether the glass plates have an uneven surface that could be identified as parts by the light barrier. If so, clean the surface. Realize a trigger test. If the numbers of triggers still do not correspond to each other, check the following:
    • If passing parts do not cause any interruption of the light barrier (can be seen on the devices for the parameter set-up of the light barrier):
      • Check whether the light barrier is still correctly positioned. If necessary, correct position.
      • If the cable position is correct but no triggers released, redo the calibration of the light barrier with a part type having the smallest material cross-section that you want to be inspected by the system. For information, see below.
    • If the modifications do not show any improvements, contact the Asentics VARIO Service.

The main reason for too many undefined parts and therefore for a high overload number is that the system did not have enough time to complete the image processing in the part images.

Check:

  • whether too many ’last defect/undefined’ sensor images are opened in the automatic mode.
  • whether the ’last defect/undefined’ sensor images are too big.
  • whether the speeds are too high, i.e., time between image captures is too short.
  • whether too many inspection areas (AOI) are used.
  • whether the inspection areas are too big.
  • whether the Min. expected roundness value in the Part description dialog box is too low.

The entire message is: The lifetime of valve x expired. The counter can be reset in the Service menu. Please exchange the valve of the corresponding nozzle.

To do:

1. Turn off the inspection system before exchanging the valve.
2. Exchange the valve and reset the corresponding cycle counter in the Valve data dialog box.

When a software update is realized, sometimes new parameters are required in the system’s configuration file. If these required parameters are not set in the configuration file and the inspection system is turned on, the system automatically displays the Configuration error dialog box on the monitor.

In the Configuration error dialog box you have two possibilities:

  • You can confirm the default value for the new configuration file entry by clicking OK. We recommend to choose this possibility.
  • You can enter a new value in the edit field.
