ASENTICS is a founding member of the Industrial Digital Twin Association

The VDMA, ZVEI and 20 partner companies, including ASENTICS, founded the “Industrial Digital Twin Association” user organization on September 23, 2020.
Dr. Matthias Bölke (Schneider Electric) was elected chairman. Dr. Horst Heinol-Heikkinen (Managing Director ASENTICS Group) holds the post as Deputy Chairman.
The aim of the association is to bring together the parallel development strands towards the industrial digital twin and to develop it as an open source solution

The number and names of the founding members speak volumes

The founding members of the IDTA user organization are meaningful and significant. All well-known companies in the German mechanical engineering and electrical industry are included: ABB, Bitkom, Bosch, Bosch Rexroth, Danfoss, Endress + Hauser, Festo, Homag, KUKA, Lenze, Pepperl + Fuchs, Phoenix Contact, SAP, Schneider Electric, Schunk, Siemens , Turck, Volkswagen, Wittenstein and of course ASENTICS as well as the VDMA and ZVEI associations. Responsible behind the board are Dr. Christian Mosch for the VDMA and Meik Billman for the ZVEI.

ASENTICS already played an intensive role in establishing Industry 4.0 standards in the past, for example in developing the Companion Specifications. Now the task is to further develop the digital twin as a core technology for Industry 4.0.
The digital twin is a representative, digital representation of a system and serves as an interface between physical industrial products and the digital world. It does not matter whether the system already exists physically or will be present in the future.
As a result of the continuous data availability along the entire life cycle, complex analyzes and plans can be created in order to save effort, time and costs in the own value creation.

ASENTICS customers will be the first to benefit from all results in this development process and gain early insights into the digitization of industrial products.
